Craved for....

I m not somebody who can maintain doing something for long session. Which means, i m the 5-minute-of-eagerness type. Likes and dislike are forever changing.

But music is an exception.

And i m really surprise that i continued for like ---13yrs till now.
A real big record for people like me...
Many of us thought, music is suppose to be something relaxing, no rush in learning, no big deal, just a hobby, and bla bla...including me. BUT, the actual fact is that, it can be super stressful, if u dont enjoy the learning process. the whole long process till today, did not come that smoothly. ahem...it contains more that 1 littres of tears kay...
rushing for theory homework at the last minute was what i always do, though everytime i swear that i WILL not repeat again.
And punishment from my first piano teacher for not doing her homework, which i will never forget till today..i was made to pull ( or u can say 'hold') my ears outside her house for half an hour, i was 8 at that moment, felt so bad, and so funny now to think of it. haha.... my primary days were filled with tears. Worst still, the teacher staying just BESIDE my house, no excuse for not bringing my homework, she will made me go home and get it, or she will do it. and wether i practice or not, she will be SURE to know..the lesson is, don't get a music teacher who is your neighbour. Dunno how many zillion times i told my mom that i want to stop piano for that period, whacking, sweet talking and so on made me continue till today...and i m sooo THANKFUL and glad that i didn just stop by then.

Then my second teacher, a very sweet but not so sweet lady.
Almost drove her mad by being good for a week and bad for the other. No consistency, every performance depends on my MOOD. so, she is sweet and not so sweet to me larr... in her record, i m the only student who was late for the real piano exam. venue was at Grand Blue Wave Hotel Shah Alam, lost our way, took the wrong turning at the roundabout and turn up 16 min late. Which then i forever remember to be at least 2 hr early for functions like this.16 min may be a little, but it cost so much , that i have to retake my exam, and till now, have yet to receive my cert for that grade.
GREAT lesson, teaches me punctuality.
My ending with this 2nd teacher wasn't that good.
I failed my last grade of music in both theory and practical during my SPM year, and she threw me out of her door.
This is definitely no joke. it wa
s bitter, and so unbearable to even think of it.

But still, i retake my exams with my 3rd teacher during STPM year, during September, which was quite near the big exam. And i did it through with Merit from a fairly strict examiner who claims to fail many 8th graders..ahahaha...told u, that EVERYTHING i do, depends on my mood...big exam coming or not is not the big matter, it is my thoughts and mood that matters. But true enough...i practiced like hell ...and Distinction was just 3 marks ahead. 2 bad.

After that exam, no more music till i finished STPM. But music is still my way of releasing stress throughout the exam. After years of music classes, really felt weird for ending my lessons, and not having it anymore.
So, i took up violin and decided to begin the whole scenario all over again.
(no, not the nightmares...)
bitter sweet is the best word to say it all.
but this time, no more kiddo i m ,promised to throw all heart and soul into this..

First lesson was today. Paid out by me, not my usual money supplier. hahaha....although work was busy, having lessons during break time really light up my day..though i was like---dead tired by the end of the day...which i arrived home by 11.30 pm..EVERYDAY.

sTILL, I M HAPPY!

*****************
2008'S FIRST WISH~~~
to be able to continue my violin, NO MATTER what happens. After continuing for so many years, i have confident in myself that i can CONTINUE this!!

or in another way of thinking, i don't want to stop.
can't live without it.

Maksim~Electrik

i would recommend this song above - The Gypsy Maid, from Maksim Mrvirca's newest album~Electrik.

seriously, this is no recent news. Its me who recently notice this 'news'.
Its like last year? when this album came out. very outdated i am.Can say that Croation Rhapsody, Cubana and the famous Flight of Bumble bee and etc..was the last i heard about him haha....

From this album, can see that some slow and sweet songs were produced, like In Paradisum, Beyond Rangoon,Child in Paradise...are some of them, rather than his famous fast tempo pieces. (er..Child in Paradise is still consider a fast piece, but sweet in the beginning. very enjoyable indeed)
There is also this special piece in here - Hall of the Mountain King, haha...can be heard in cartoons like Donald Duck , Mickey Mouse and etc..in some sort of crazy act scenes.very enjoyable!
Requiem, is the usual fast piece series. Fast tempo, hectic, majestic as Bumble Bee.
and the tango piece--Tango in Ebony, haha....just listen to the whole album and u will know what i mean!! can actually hear all the twist and turns in there. Play in loud when there is nobody alone. Its better to hear music without distraction.U can hear all the ups and downs, suspensions, climax, resolution..bla bla...so its best to be alone. but DONT SLEEP larr....-_-

The Gypsy Maid is my favorite in this album. Its lively, energetic ...I.....CAN'T explain it! just listen to it lar...

BUT STILL, i loove Croation Rhapsody the MOST!!! iT is from his first few albums --'The Piano Player' i think...

BTW, Maksim's a Croatian-born artist who was discovered by renowned producer Mel Bush, who has also discovered such crossover music stars as Vanessa Mae and Bond..though i m not a Maksim fan, still quite surprised that he is in the same company as BOND! HAHA....reco BOND next time...really nice too..thanks to y.chyi..haha..

by the way, this is BOND.
An all female strings quartet, focusing mainly on classical rock...
next time then.

Richard Clayderman LIVE @ Genting H.

21st December..

so, i was There.

as it was at peak season, hotels were all packed, and we were so lucky to be spared a room from a friend. and it cost RM190, but at non peak seasons, it is for FREE. but no complains...gud enough for last minute people like us. others booked months ago for this period. and for the first time i learn that checking-in the hotel also need to take numbers like what we do in banks. With 100 over people in front of us, we waited at the lobby, which was really PACKED. people crowded at the lobby really look like refugees, with luggage and everything...haha...

the christmas deco at the lobby...

the fruit counter-didnt bought anything, but i like the deco alot..^^

we got into the room for like 1 hr later, and well, the room not as small as i had expected lar.. but the walls are too thin that we can hear lots of chinapeks talking whenever they pass our door, and through the mini toilet( the same as what v got in airplanes--or u can say cubicle), we can hear our neighbour...talking larr..consider very good environment dy though...clean and all.

by 8pm, we were at the Arena Of Stars.
My family went to watch the performance of 'Fly Defy Gravity' which thanks to k.wah, i got 2 free tickets, and bought 1 for my father will do. Actually i felt like watching that also...but cant be greedy...one at a time...haha..

Fly Defy Gravity--optic illusion, skillful acts and stuff..

okayy....i may go watch some other day .....sounds really fun..i like this kind of shows, but exceptionally..i dun like circus.

anyway, in our arena....

before it starts...

The band members came in first...
the accompany group consist of:

1 celloist, 2 violinist( 1 violin, 1 viola), 2 guitarist, 2 pianist and 1 percussionist.

and ...

it BEGINS....

ALIVE!!!

the piano was so black that it was almost unseen before the stage lights were on( or my eyes are simply too small) and thinking that it would dramatically descend from the top....
haha....silly me..

he started off with a quick chromatic piece, sounded like some kind of repetitive scale, going up in sequence ...and his fingers are really articulated!! almost as robotic...

the strings and the keyboard on the left

the guitarist, the percussionist, and the keyboard on the right

haha..sad to said that till that day only i know that he is A FRENCH!!! i had always thought that he is an ENGLISH. he cant really speak fluently in English, and most of the time he spoke French, and we have to go guessing ...and he is quite a joker, which makes the whole live show interesting and fun as well!!

the on-going performance...

I notice that he mumbles a lot during is performance, curious what's he mumbling though..

the pieces that night was overall fantastic!! 'Liang Zhu', or as known as The Butterfly Lover's theme song was played too, one of that night's hit song, and two other chinese theme, i dun get the name...others are superb too, i like the one during the break, where he went to change, and the band members soloed for a moment before he join in again.Like it alot, but whats d name??? duno le...those who went, pls let me know if u know. tq.

there was this cute part where he actually gave out his music scores right after the performance!! the first one was after Liang Zhu was played. but his action was not quite understood by the audience, and only one came out for the score!! and of course he/she (cant remember) got it... but after that, u can see crowds rushing out for the scores, which was to be given out. he gave out total 3 music scores. haha...the way he teased the crowd was quite funny..
ppl even waited in front of the stage before the song ended, just for his scores, and kena chased back by guards.

the crowd...

and bigger crowd...madness.

we were sited on the above floor, so cant b jumping down right....the vip seats are on great advantage..

for encore, he got us a Christmas song as Christmas was around the corner, aahhh.!!! there was Ballade Pour Adeline he played!!! wow.....live vers so much diff from cd vers..the crowd cheered like mad wei...other songs were mostly fast tempo except for the 3 chinese themed ones.

really enjoyed throughout the performance..

and thanks for being with me!!

my sweet friend....
